O’s Notes: Ameranouche is an acoustic trio featuring Richard ‘Shepp’ Sheppard on guitar and vocals, Michael Harriston bass and vocals and guitarist Jack Soref. Special guest Tobey Sol LaRoche plays percussion and sings on “Could It Be I’m Falling In Love”, a soulful swinger. The predominant groove is a gypsy swing plays with an abundance of energy that spills into the listener. They add a taste of Philly funk on “Clair De Lune” and flamenco on “Andalusian Dreams”. This is a strong band that shares the spotlight and is seamless in transitions. Sun Shine Soul is an enjoyable amalgamation of genres.
