O’s Notes: Veteran master of the piano, Fred Hersch underscores the lyrics of jazz vocalist Rondi Charleston on Suspended In Time, seven heartfelt songs. The rhythm section is solid with bassist Matt Aronoff, drummer Kush Abadie, and percussionist Rogerio Boccato joining Hersch. Bruce Williamson adds clarinet on several tracks. We liked the poetic opener, “Fever Dreams”, “Suspended in Time”, the cool bossa nova beats on “Awakenings” featuring Kate McGarry, and “Sea of Eyes” featuring Gabrielle Stravelli.
