O’s Notes: It is rather unusual and in fact surprising to find a Japanese woman handling a Hammond B3 but Tsuruga does a good job! Eric Johnson (g), Vince Ector (d) and Wilson ‘Chembo’ Corneil (perc) have all supported B3 players in the past and they come through for Akiko as well. They play ten covers including “Where Is The Love” and “Booga Lou”. She has polished her trade over the last few years in New York and is well on her way to establishing her own voice on the cool jazz scene.
