Martin is a show style singer with well-articulated lyrics. The liner notes suggest that he can sing both cabaret and jazz styles. The best cases of the later are on “Sometimes A Day Goes By” and “I’m All Smiles”. But describing a singer as “Broadway-styled” is not necessarily a bad thing! Martin can stand with jazz crooners for sure, but his strengths are on the stage.
