O’s Notes: Angela serves up warm, sultry vocals on the opener, “New York City Blues” backed by Ron Aprea’s powerful, swinging Big Band. There’s lots of brass in Aprea’s band, and it’s accentuated by guest Ken Peplowski on clarinet for “You’d Be So Easy To Love”, Randy Brecker (t) on “Hello Young Lovers”, and Lew Tabackin (t-sax) on “It Might As Well Be Spring”. DeNiro’s delivery is passionate, dynamic, and rich with coloration lifting this session a notch above most!
