O’s Notes: This modernization of Benny Goodman classics is a swinging good time. Terry sings the vocals of many of the greats including Bessie Smith and Ethyl Waters while Mark dazzles us with his stride work on piano and Allan lives up to the legend on clarinet. This trio doesn’t lose much of the big band fervor that Benny’s large ensembles had and they certainly help us celebrate the spirit of his works with seventeen of his classics.
