O’s Notes: Bevan Manson is a composer, pianist, and arranger equally at home on jazz and classical forms. His latest release, Talking to Trees is big band jazz. Vocals come from featured artist, Tierney Sutton, bathed in strings and a large ensemble. They open with an orchestral rendition of “All Blues”, moving to fresh arrangements of timeless classics like “Willow Weep For Me” and “Banyan Tree/Take The A-Train”. We also enjoyed “Redwood” and “Mr. PC” in a rather symphonic session.
