O’s Notes: Vocalist, drummer and composer Dave Tull strikes a chord with“Texting and Driving, a collection of tunes that will resonate with most drivers and romantics as well. We loved “The Texting Song” but there is much more here! There are many romantic tracks like “Please Tell Me Your Name”, “Tell Me That I’m Wrong” and “The Moment” featuring Tull harmonizing with Inga Swearingen with a rich solo by George Stone (flugelhorn). Tull’s work ranges from scatting, crooning, vocalese and hip, articulate, poetic renderings. Backed by a large ensemble and soloists including Kevin Axt (b), Larry Koonse (g), Wayne Bergeron (t), this is an enjoyable set!
