O’s Notes: This is a dedication to Shirl-ee May, Shawn’s mother, a singer, dancer and actress. He crosses lots of venues to capture all of what she was. The songs range from the pop sixties flavored “You’re Groovy” to the funky guitar laced “Make It” and even some country gospel with “Dear Lord”. Among the best is the jazzy “Bubble Hill”. The vocals are very good throughout the set with warm harmonizing and heartfelt emotion. Flip the CD for a DVD that provides a visual montage of the songs!
