O’s Notes: Pianist Spike Wilner, bassist Paul Gill, and the late drummer Anthony Pinciotti are the Contrafactus Trio. They come together with special guest George Garzone on tenor sax for “The Children and The Warlock”. The work is a tribute to unheralded pianist Harry Whitaker, a teacher and mentor for Wilner. They are cruising on “Miles’ Mode”, the title track, “Benediction” & “Theme For Ernie” featuring Garzone. Pinciotti suffered a terminal heart attack 12/24/2024 at 49 shortly after this recording was completed. The album is dedicated to his memory.
