O’s Notes: Pianist Vince Guaraldi died at just 47 from a heart attack in 1976. He was mostly commonly associated with the Peanuts tunes but had even greater depth. This set illustrates a complete picture with 31 songs. Vince is joined by Eddie Duran (g) and Dean Reilly (b) for a spirited take on “Fascinating Rhythm”. That trio performs some of the best music on this two-disc set, a collection that includes sessions from 1955 to 1965. Also of note are a few of the Latin selections from the early to mid 1960s. There is a wealth of good music here including Charlie Brown favorites. There is a lot of swing.
