O’s Notes: Louis Stewart and Jim Hall perform at The Dublin Concert. It was recorded in Dublin’s Maccabi Hall on Boxing Night (26th December) 1982. The previously unreleased tapes were surfaced in 2022, digitized, and released this year on vinyl and CD. This unique pairing features the late jazz virtuosos, one hard bop Irishman and the American, classically trained Hall. They are both polished guitarists who play harmoniously. The program is freshly arranged classics that make for a relaxing set. “Stella By Starlight” is the opener followed by “St. Thomas”, and “My Funny Valentine”. Hall goes solo on three tracks, notably a masterful take of “All The Things You Are,”. This is a great set all around, especially for guitar lovers.
