O’s Notes: They swing up a storm on this collection of classics originally released during 1938-1941. The large ensemble is well coordinated and many members step up with strong solos. There are also a few harmonized vocals like “Chattanooga Choo-Choo” and “The Rhumba Jumps” that nicely balance the other standards. This is another winner n the Hot side of Sony’s (Bluebird) Jazz Moods Series.
