O’s Notes: Crooner Jack Wood sings a dozen songs in front of the vibrant Salt Lake Jazz Orchestra for pleasurable experience on The Gal That Got Away. Highlights are “It’s Crazy” & “After Hours” featuring guest vocalist Michaud Fitzgibbon from Australia. We also enjoyed “I Will Wait For You”, and the title track. The brass does a fine job shadowing the vocalists and the accompanying band provides good support especially guitarists Doug MacDonald and John Pisano.
