O’s Notes: Trombonist, arranger and produced Conrad Herwig invites an excellent team of musicians to perform The Latin Side of Horace Silver. Michel Camilo (p), Craig Handy (a-sax, fl), Alex Sipiagin (t, flugelhorn), Rubin Rodriguez (b), Richie Flores (congas) and Robby Ameen (d) all shine in supporting roles. They swing on “Song For My Father” and the brass reigns big with impressive solos especially on “Nica’s Dream”. There is much to enjoy and we did on multiple occasions.
