O’s Notes: Composer and guitarist Bill Horvitz leads The Expanded Band, a 17-piece ensemble that has evolved to include many musicians over its 7-year existence. The Long Walk is a dedication to Bill’s late brother Philip. The sound is more jazz-fusion than big band courtesy of the prominence of Bill’s electric guitar and the arrangements. But Horvitz touches many jazz genres in this set as he reflects and touches all emotions.
