O’s Notes: This session is dedicated to the masterful Brazilian composer, Hermeto Pascoal. He was, and still is, a musician with the ability to engage any other musician and especially his audiences in each of his performances. So the music has ‘engaging’ appeal. Neto (piano, harmonica, and flute) played for over 15 years with Hermato and has adopted a lot of his style. Marshall (mandolin, guitar) became excited with Brazilian music in 1995 and has since mastered the choro style. That makes this duo an excellent pair to perform a dedication to Pascoal. The best tracks are the energetic tunes like “Sept 1” which includes Aaron Johnson on drums.
