O’s Notes: Chad LB is an under-rated performer, a purveyor of warm, passionate, tenor sax. He leads a quartet with Liya Grigoryan (p), Ben Tiberio (b), and Mike Piolet (d) for The Shadow of Your Smile. They get funky on “Layla”, swing on “Change The World”, and mesmerized us on “Only You”. They add a string quartet arranged by Danny Jonokuchi on “Ave Maria” balancing a fine session.
