O’s Notes: Mr. Ho is vibraphonist Brian O’Neil leading a quartet with Jason David (b), Genie Skendo (flutes) and Noriko Terada (perc). They play a blend of pop and chamber jazz. The sound is exotic with the tones of the vibraphone and flute resonating in rich warmth. Eight of the eleven tracks are O’Neil originals and the three covers blend right in. Our favorite is “Terre Exotique”. This is something different but not outrageously so!
