O’s Notes: This Dance features vocalist Alison Wedding with strings, her dream pairing. The strings are definitive and add a level of depth that gives this production a sense of grandeur. Wedding wrote all of the songs and dedicates the album to her friend, the late jazz pianist Will Poskitt. She includes guest several guest artists. We enjoyed Lionel Louke (voice, g) on “Carry On” and Chris Potter (sax) on “Remain”. There are elements of Latin and pop infused into several selections but it is mostly adult contemporary vocals done well.
