O’s Notes: Modern Surfaces is sort of an abstract art or better said, it is free jazz. The lineup is Geoff Young (g), Jim Vivian (b), Mike Murley (sax) and Wynston on drums and piano. Mike’s plays most of the melodies with his quacking sax. The songs are spontaneous yet have enough structure to remain accessible. This is definitely an interesting adventure.
