O’s Notes: Strickland plays sax and he leads a quartet with Mike Moreno (g), Carlos Henderson (b) and E. J. Strickland (d) with guest artist, Keyon Harrold (t). Marcus combines his jazz with the spoken word of Malachi on half of the tracks. They deliver a message that you can feel through the music and comprehend from the lyrics. They have something to say that goes beyond the nonsense of most of the rap on the airways. And it’s wrapped in some serious riffs. It was a live session performed at the Jazz Standard in April 2007.
