O’s Notes: Maria Neckam is a vocalist with a contemporary poetic style. She wrote the lyrics and music for most of the program. It has a blue tone and incorporates influences from poets in the 14th and 20th centuries. We enjoyed “The Story” and wordless melodies of the title track. Neckam gets support from a capable ban including pianist Aaron Parks. This is a different approach with a lot of intricacies that may exceed the capacity of the masses yet delight those fond of risk and adventure in music.
