O’s Notes: Music Soup is a Greek jazz trio with organist Evgenia Karlafti, guitarist Nestor Dimopoulos and drummer Vangelis Kotsabasis. They’ve been together as a trio for a decade. The music for Upbeat Mood is all original and it speaks in a jovial tone over eight selections. “Fun Island” and “Around the World” both feature guest pianist Kim Purling. We also liked the title track.
