O’s Notes: Ovella Negra is a powerful trio lead by arranger Joan Fontera Luna (p) with bassist Pablo Di Salvo and Teo Salva on drums. For their lates album Va de muscles, they combine traditional Latin fusion with expressive dance. The dance ensemble is choreographed by Catalina Luna Barcelona (Joan Fontera Luna’s mother). While we only had access to the music, it is passionate, expressive and rich across many tempos.
