O’s Notes: You may know Walt (t, flugelhorn) from his swinging big band work but on this recording, he teams up with keyboard master Ron Feuer to create a set of smooth jazz tunes. They inject a dose of hip-hop on “L.A.” with Eric O’Neal and Ajaxx adding rap alongside his muted trumpet. They take a page out of Alex Bugnon’s book on “ASI”, a cool head-bobbing number with funky undertones. There are hints of Chuck Mangione on the title track before they take it down a notch with a cover of “Rise” and then “Perfect Night” making this a very relaxing set.
