O’s Notes: Composer/pianist Ezra Weiss makes a statement on“We Limit Not the Truth of God, a collections of vibrant music and statements of where we are today with our political nightmare. Weiss leads a 17-piece ensemble including soloists Rob Davis (sax), Farnell Newton (t), Jeff Uusitalo (tb) and John Savage (fl). It is a live session recorded at“Alberta Abbey, a historic church that was renovated into a performing arts center in Portland, Oregon. Weiss mixes music and poems/letters to his children to mark history like ‘Dear O and J‘ and ‘You Just Started Kindergarten‘; an excellent mark of history culminating with ‘What Now?‘ and the title track fittingly with a choir!
