O’s Notes: The quartet is Natduki Tamura (t), Mark Dresser (b), Jim Black (d) and leader, pianist Satoko Fujii. This is her eighth session with Dresser and Black, two well-established free jazz musicians. Their experiences together make them very comfortable opening up with each other and allowing even greater creativity. There is a bit more structure in the title track but the sense of adventure is retained. We liked the beats on “Nourishment” best. They continue to push the envelope.
