O’s Notes: Drummer Chris Massey leads a quintet playing eight modern jazz tunes on Whosoever. He sprinkled three of his own compositions including the title track among five freshly arranged covers. Adam Larson (sax), Benny Benack III (t), Willerm Delisfod (p) and Chris Talio (b) are strong musicians that cement the band. “Giant Steps”, “Old Devil Moon” and “Pedal Up” give each the musicians ample time in the spotlight and they all shine making this a multidimensional, entertaining session.
