O’s Notes: The Brussels Jazz Orchestra is a fine ensemble with artistic director Frank Vaganée. Guest saxophonist Joe Lovano is featured and he does a fine job weaving in and out of the orchestra with his characteristic groove. Together they perform Gil Goldstein’s arrangements of Lovano’s autobiographical compositions. These songs were all previously recorded in small groups but they have a life of their own in this configuration.
