O’s Notes: Airborne is a contemporary jazz band featuring Thomas Sansone (sax, fl), Thomas Borino (p) and Gregory Borino (g). This is their 6th album, a collection of mild smooth jazz tunes that are inoffensive and ready for NAC airplay. The theme is around environmental sensitivity and protecting our planet. “Calypso Night” is true to the title, one of a few tunes with a Latin bent. Their music will find a warm spot with many listeners who want relaxing background music that doesn’t get in the way. “All Tied Up” and the title track (Reprise) are among the best.
