O’s Notes: Wintersongs are a set of original, and freshly arranged Holiday music by Canadian singer, pianist Laila Biali. George Kovler (b) and Ben Wittman (d, perc) flesh out the rhythm section with several other talented artists scattered throughout the session. The Venturi String Quartet and a Chamber Orchestra play on four songs each. Wade O. Brown joins Laila singing “Outside”. We also enjoyed “Snow”, “Rocky Mountain Lullaby” featuring Jane Bunnett (fl), and “Jesus, He Is Born”. This is an appreciable Holiday album of fresh, peaceful, relaxing music.
