O’s Notes: Guitarist Joshua Breakstone teams up with bassist Lisle Atkinson, drummer Eliot Zigmund and Mike Richmond on cello to play nine classic bop tunes. There is a taste of bossa nova on “I Told You So” before Breakstone cooks on “Short Story”. They swing on “La Verne Walk” courtesy of solid work by Atkinson and simmer on “Be Anything”. No matter what tempo is dialed in, this is good listening focused on the guitar.
