O’s Notes: These magical performances were from Ralph’s family. The site was Colonel’s in Marin County, CA. Ralph’s sister typically played there but on October 15, 1961, Ralph was the man of honor. Hugh Cregg accompanied him on drums. That name won’t ring a bell but Hugh Cregg was the father of Huey Lewis! The intimacy of these pseudo-private sessions captures some of the more joyful, bubbly and swinging music ever recorded by Sutton, 15 enjoyable songs.
