O’s Notes: The Shakers N’ Bakers are Banda percussive, jazzy religious band with Mary Larose and Miles Griffin handling all vocals, Jeff Lederer (sax), Jamie Saft (p), Chris Lightcap (b) and Allison Miller (d). Their music comes from the religious sect founded by Mother Lee in the late 1700s. It is known as the gift songs. While the Shakers are almost extinct today, the music remains as a reminder of a unique community.
