O’s Notes: Les Doigts de l’Homme translates to “The fingers of the man”. Olivier Kiteff (g) founded the band in 2002 and it now includes Yannick Alcocer (g), Benoit Convert (g) and Tanguy Blum (b). They are dedicated to recreating the music of Django Reinhardt, the legendary gypsy guitarist. They do a fine job of playing gypsy jazz. Highlights are many but we enjoyed the swing of “Ol man river”, “There will never be another you” and “Minor swing”. Stephane Chausse adds clarinet on two tracks notably “Russian Melody” but guitars rule this session!
