O’s Notes: This is the music of composer Jackson Garrett, who continues his musical journey with experiences in Montreal, New York and now Southern California. Speechless is his latest studio recording. Steve Madaio (t), Kenny Meier (tb) and Pat Rizzo (sax) are the brass with John Pagels (g), Marty Steele (p), Jeff Stover (b) and Steve Neilen (d) forming the rhythm section. The dozen selections offer a diversity of jazz styles mostly upbeat, danceable music with brass accents. This is a good effort.
