O’s Notes: This is a very creative work led by percussionist Lukas Ligeti. It is a collage of sorts described in the liner notes as a blend of new wave, African pop, and avant-garde. We were immediately taken aback with the opener “Without Prior Warning” but we eventually got a grasp on the music though it never came into full focus. The accompanying musicians are from different parts of the globe and come together with the common goal of free spirited improvisation. They succeed in that regard and will delight their specific audience.
