O’s Notes: Luke played piano, composed and arranged the music for Back & Forth. He leads a well-integrated quartet with bassist Joshua Crumbly, Lucas Pino on sax and drummer Jimmy MacBride. The music is modern jazz with a vibrant feel courtesy of Celenza’s bubbly style. The band is tight especially on “River Rhodes”. This is a balanced set and one that puts the jazz world on notice for Celenza!
