O’s Notes: Mem3 is a trio featuring pianist Michael Cabe, bassist Mark Lau and Ernesto Cervini on drums. The program has ten selections, all originals, three from each member and a traditional song “Faith of Our Fathers” We enjoyed “4ES”, dedicated to the late Esbjorn Svensson and the peacefulness of “Quiescent” which defined the set, a rather reflective and reflective outing.“Circles“is not all ballads with upbeat tunes like “Olympic” and the spacey title track raising the pulse a bit.
