O’s Notes: Pianist Alex Collins, bassist Ryan Berg and producer, drummer Karl Latham come Together for a live studio session during the pandemic. They breathe new life into six standards using the classics as a framework for generous soloing. They are a cohesive trio sharing lots of conversation without the over-talk. Latham’s work is gentle and inviting notably on “Alone Together” with Berg providing punctuation. Collins provides the glue, comping, and fleeting solos.
