O’s Notes: Alto saxophonist Amos Gillespie assembled a septet to perform on Unstructured Time. His contemporary jazz band includes vocalist Alexandra Olsavsky, Andy Schlinder (t-sax), Gustavo Cortina’s (d), Paul Bedal (p), Casey Nielsen (g) and Dan Thatcher (b). Like many projects this one had starts and stops during the pandemic but now finished, it is upbeat, fresh and uplifting jazz-fusion. “Nothing Changes” and the calypso groove of “Juiced” are among the best.
