Vincent Ding is a Taiwanese American Jazz crooner who soars in front of a 25-piece, big band. Incredible Views From Above is his debut recording where he mimics the large hall, symphonic sound of Sinatra and Nat King Cole. Solos are plentiful including Steve Kortyka (sax) on “Pure Imagination”, Brandee Younger (harp), and the lush strings throughout. We also enjoyed Kengchakaj Kengkarnka & Sirintip Phasuk’s arrangement of “My Way”. Ding and the band present a cooperative, compelling 40-minute program that is a great start!
