O’s Notes: Jazz trumpeter Bill Ortiz has been lighting up the Bay Area for many years with crisp, warm tones that can penetrate your heart. He’s got a strong rhythm section with him including Matt Clark (p), Marcus Shelby (b), John Santos (perc) and Dennis Chambers (d). They waste no time getting down to business on the opener “Sunburst”. Terrie Oadby adds buttery, soulful vocals on “A Toast To The People” and “Ain’t No Need In Crying” to balance the set.
