O’s Notes: Saxophonist Michael Blake leads a seven-piece band for Dance of the Mystic Bliss. They open with a festive calypso beat on “Merle The Pearl” that continues on “Sagra”. They bring Asian seasonings with “Prune Pluck Pangloss”, and a sense of adventure on “Cleopatra”. The music is a passionate reflection of mixed emotions over the past three years centered around Blake on saxophones and flutes.
