O’s Notes: Composer Hery Paz (t-sax, fl, p) teams up with fellow Cuban musicians Román Diaz (perc, vocals) and Francisco Mela (d) for Jardineros. There is raging, free jazz on “Arroyo Lajas” with Hery’s squawking sax followed by spoken word by Diaz on “El Real De Las Palmas” and later “Barrio Del Jobo”. Other highlights are “Miel De La Tierra” with Paz on flute, “Comunión”, and “Pensamiento” featuring Paz.
