O’s Notes: This is a remaster of Cosmopolitan, circa 1979 by keyboardist Jason Miles. The original recordings are finally being released in 2025! The lineup includes Michael Brecker (t-sax), Gerry Niewood (sax), Marcus Miller (b), Ricardo Silveira (g), Jeff Williams (d), Badal Roy (tabla), Armen Halburian (perc), Henry Castelanos (perc), and vocalist Clarice Taylor. The music is upbeat and energetic starting with the title track and on “Kashmirian Twist”. We also enjoyed the more mellow “Powder” in a set that remains relevant after 46 years.
