O’s Notes: Carla was a 17 year old wonder when this session was recorded in 1960. But there is no doubt that she had the right formula for making hits as many of these tracks soared to the top of the charts. Her signature sound was strong and rich with emotion, giving character to otherwise standard doo-wop rhythms. This was the first of many albums that made her one of the premier soul singers of her time.
