O’s Notes: The music of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grapelli is legendary and appreciated by a broad audience. Violinist Joe Craven gives it a spicy Latin twist complete with steel drums, güiro and Latin percussion. This festive take of the gypsy music gives it a rebirth of sorts. Among the many treasures we found here are “Sweet Chorus” with it’s calypso beat, “Nuages” and “Babik” featuring Heath Walton on tenor sax. Just sit back and enjoy this session.
