O’s Notes: Allan is one of the warmest relaxed crooners on the jazz scene today. This session is dedicated to Nat King Cole, a legend with similar traits. It was recorded live at The Kennedy Center. Harris glides through thirteen classic ballads including “L-O-V-E”, “Straighten Up and Fly Right” and a stirring rendition of “Nature Boy”. The band is a quartet with Bob Grabowski (b), Jim Gasior (p), Larry Marshall (d) and Jesse Jones (sax, fl). This is an enjoyable evening capped by “Unforgettable”… as was this set!
